An extraordinarily rare and important Harry Winston bracelet, created circa 1972, exemplifying the house’s mastery of colour, sculptural design and gemstone selection at the height of its mid-20th-century creativity.
Designed as a richly articulated floral composition, this exceptional bracelet is crafted in 18ct yellow gold and set with a dramatic sequence of eight cabochon Colombian emeralds, each forming the centre of a stylised flowerhead. The emeralds are surrounded by layered petals of round brilliant-cut diamonds, further accented by cabochon rubies, creating a striking interplay of vivid green, rich red and intense white brilliance.
The emeralds display the saturated colour and translucency associated with fine Colombian material and are presented en cabochon to emphasise their depth and natural beauty. The diamonds provide exceptional sparkle and contrast, while the cabochon rubies add warmth and visual rhythm throughout the design.
Of particular note is the bracelet’s distinguished provenance, originating from the Estate of Baroness von Langendorff, and its clear attribution to Harry Winston, reinforced by its numbered designation: 7735. The bracelet remains in excellent vintage condition, retaining superb articulation, presence and craftsmanship.
This jewel is not only a statement of luxury, but a rare collector’s piece representing Harry Winston’s bold and expressive design language of the early 1970s.
